Below you will find answers to some of the more frequently asked questions I receive.
If you have a question that has not been answered here, please feel free to reach out via the Contact page and I will be in touch promptly to clarify.
Digital files of the photographs from your session are not included in the session investment and must be purchased separately after you have received your preview gallery.
This is so you can build a personalised package tailored exactly to your needs. By separating the digital files from the session investment, my goal is to keep your overall purchase flexible, affordable and with only the products you really want – whether that be digital files for online sharing and archiving, professional prints and frames, or both.
However, you do receive $25 print credit in your session investment. I have included this complimentary print credit because it is my wholehearted belief that the photographs from your session deserve a place on the walls of your home. It is up to your whether you use this print credit.
Yes! After your non-refundable $100 deposit has been secured, 8 week payment plans are available for the remainder of the session investment.
16 week payment plans are also available on wall art and digital files for investments over $400.
Yes, I sure do! Gift certificates are a particularly special idea for your parents or grandparents, who may not have had their professional portrait taken in many years. Of course, they are available for all other types of sessions, too.
Contact me and together we can create a gift certificate that suits your needs.
Once your session is concluded, I send the film via express post as soon as possible to the lab in Melbourne. Once they receive the film, their turnaround time for developing and scanning the photos is usually 3-5 days (sometimes longer during holidays etc).
Once I receive the scans, I will do some minor editing before collating the photographs into your gallery. This can take 2-3 weeks.
All up, you can expect to receive your gallery 4-6 weeks after your session, sometimes sooner.
If you are utilising the 12 week payment plan option, I will order your products from the print lab once the final payment has been received.
If you are paying upfront, again, I will place your order as soon as the full payment has been received.
The lab’s turnaround time can vary depending on the product. For example, loose prints might take a couple of weeks, whereas framed prints usually take 4-6 weeks.
If it is important that you receive your wall art fast, we can discuss the possibility of a rush rate.
Your deposit is non-refundable, however, it is transferable. In case of illness or poor weather, we can reschedule your shoot at no additional cost.
Session investments have been valued to include enough film for up to 5 individuals. More individuals may be included at an additional cost.

In general, neutral colours with no text or logos. For more detailed advice, read my guide, What to Wear to Your Portrait Session.
I’m also happy to provide one-on-one guidance during the planning stage of your shoot. Feel free to send pics or ask for feedback. I’m always happy to help and I want you to feel comfortable!
The short answer is no, and I don’t have any plans on offering one in future. I would much rather you wear something comfortable and authentic! Read in more detail here.
My editing process is kept very simple because I firmly believe you are perfect just as you are.
I may remove a pimple here or there, as I wouldn’t want a temporary pimple to be the thing you remember for the next 20 years!
However, if you want me to make you look slimmer, or swap out your toddlers frown for a smile, or remove natural wrinkles and freckles. . . you would be better off seeking a different photographer!
If you plan on booking multiple sessions within a 12 month period (e.g. Milestone portraits, pregnancy/newborn etc.), a discount may be available. Fill in the form on the contact page and I will be in touch with a quote.
The short answer is no. As part of our contract, you will receive a print release allowing you to print your photos wherever you wish (provided you have purchased the digital files).
However, as a professional photographer, I must recommend against printing your photos at just any old cheap kiosk. There is a subtlety to the art of printing that is lost in department store style kiosks, and your photos will not look their best.
There is also the question of the longevity of these prints, as they are simply not made at an archival, heirloom standard.
Let me put it this way – you wouldn’t go to Macca’s for a fine dining experience. You can print where you like once you own the digital files, but as with everything, you also get what you pay for.
